A Gulet
A gulet is a
Turkish wooden yacht, built in traditional
Mediterranean style for comfortable recreational
voyages.
It is designed to cruise in combination of sailing and
motoring
Number
of passengers a gulet carries is between 8 to 24
which depends on its size.
The most common
gulet is
around 24-meter long and
7-meter wide (82 x
23 feet)
that accommodates
12
passengers
in six cabins.
It has a crew of four or five, a captain, a cook and
two - three sailors.
Each cabin has a double berth
or twins,
a toilet and shower. So
a gulet is
a kind of floating hotel
with wonderful food on board.
Common quarters include a large saloon, a fully
equipped galley, lots of
uncluttered deck space, plenty of sun mattresses
strewn all over to laze on while tanning or to
sleep
watching the stars.
While front deck is used for sun bathing or
outdor sleeping, stern is the place of resting,
reading or coctail place as well as dining quarter.
Meals are freshly prepared,
including a variety of fresh salads, fruits,
grilled meats, local fish and Turkish
specialities.
